What SendTheStuff will do
SendTheStuff's upload tool will be for sending, not storing.
- Upload the file once. SendTheStuff will take up to 5 GB per transfer, in as many as 1,000 files.
- Send the link anywhere. Paste it into an email, a text or a chat, where it fits under every app's limit.
- They download the original. SendTheStuff won't compress or convert anything. After 14 days, the files will be deleted.
When it launches, the free plan will include:
- Up to 5 GB per transfer.
- Up to 10 transfers or 20 GB a month, whichever comes first.
- Links that work for 14 days, after which the files are deleted.
- For personal, non-commercial use.

Until SendTheStuff launches
A cloud storage link does the same job, with a few catches. It uses up your storage, and the file stays there until you delete it.
- Put the file somewhere shareable. Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or any cloud storage you already use. If you're next to the other person, AirDrop or Quick Share skips this.
- Share it with anyone who has the link. A link limited to specific people makes each recipient sign in first.
- Paste the link where the file would have gone: an email, a text, a chat. Remind them to download the file, since a preview can be lower quality.

Will it be free?
Yes. The free plan will send up to 5 GB per transfer, and up to 10 transfers or 20 GB a month, whichever comes first.
What's the biggest file I can email?
25 MB in Gmail, 25 MB in Yahoo Mail and 25 MB in Outlook.com. Past that, send a link: SendTheStuff will send up to 5 GB per transfer free. Apple's Mail Drop goes up to 5 GB from the Mail app. The email guides on this page cover each inbox's limit and error.
How do I send a large video from my phone?
Send a link, not the video: texting squeezes it. SendTheStuff will make that link from your phone at full quality. Until then, AirDrop on an iPhone or Quick Share on Android works when you're side by side. The iPhone and Android guides on this page go step by step.
Do recipients need an account to open a link?
SendTheStuff links won't need one: recipients will open them in any browser. A cloud storage link needs no account either if it's shared with anyone who has the link. One limited to specific people makes each of them sign in first.
Will files keep their quality?
Yes. SendTheStuff won't compress or convert anything. The person you send files to will download exactly what you uploaded, even a long iPhone video or a folder of RAW photos.
